Nastiest Employee at the Store

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I walked into the Dulles Mall Teavana in Sterling VA, and immediately felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. A woman there, a little over weight, with blue hair and glasses was behind the counter, and she wasnt friendly at all. I was curious about buying my grandparents some tea for their birthday, and when I wanted to ask a question, she was nasty and rude. I didnt want to be there at all, so I just left, and there was muttering under her breath as I walked out of the store, I could only guess something absolutely disgusting like her personality. I decided to go to Capitol Teas instead, and they were extremely kind, and generous with everything I asked about, and I will never step foot in another Teavana ever again, and I hope something more productive is replacing that Dulles Location.

Miserable sales person

I went to Teavana store in Fairfield, CA today because Concord store didn’t have enough of the items that I was buying for. This salesperson named, Shameisha wasn’t helpful at all. She didn’t offer any help and she was just standing infront of the cashier table. She seemed like she wasn’t happy to be there. When I was checking out, she made me feel uncomfortable. She made me feel unwelcome at the store.

Teavana is disgusting

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Teavana was dishonest and took my money as a thief in the awful experience I had and I will never shop there again as they were rude to top it all off! What kind of a poor unethical company this is! Stay away! I know I will, thats for sure! What kind of company hires rude people as sales people? What kind of company has sales people scamming you over hoping you won;t discover. What kind of company is this that won;t even attempt to rectify situation or apologize? This is by far worst, dishonest company I ever dealt with! Stay away!

Very hostile sales girl

My boyfriend and I went to Florida mall to possibly get some matcha tea. I asked the sales girl if she had any. She pointed to it and continued on with her business, not another customer. I told my boyfriend the tea was expensive and I could get it on line for cheaper. She rudely started "then just to do it." My boyfriend attempted to speak to her about her attitude, she mumbled some curse words under her breath and went to the back room. We asked the other sales girl for the manager, she said that was their assistant manager and the manager would be in later. Moments later the rude girl came out said something to the other sales girl about leaving and not putting up with anything. As she walked past my boyfriend and I she said " have a great day you *** c#nts." The other customers and the other sales girl heard her clearly. Very low class. We waited to speak to the manager but she never arrived. Later we called to speak to her and they said she'd be back tomorrow. Complaint made to corporate office. Didn't end up buying anything there.

Teavana does not post negative reviews-deception

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have posted two negative reviews on the cold tumbler due to the straw breaking and Teavana not reponding to many requests as to where I can purchase new straws. I received no response from customer service. I have -tried emails, Twitter, two trips to the stores and FB-ridiculous. They also are not posting the two negative reviews on this product. They should not sell an item that is useless without the straw. I purchased replacement straws but they do not fit the special lid-very disappointed in this business. I dont understand the non response. I am hopeful that Pissed Consumer can help remedy this situation. Thanks!

I just want to know where to purchase straws frot ehir cold tumbler-I went to two stores to no avail-was told to contact customer service but that isnt working so.....taking my business elsewhere-lots of tea companies who do respect the consumers....I really do not have time for all of this nonsense-the straws break so one would think they would sell them in thier stores-ordered a set from Amazon but they are too wide for the tumblers-I cant measure the straw that came with the tumbler becasue I threw out the pieces..

Order modification without consulting customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I placed an order online at teavana.com for White Chocolate Peppermint tea (on sale for $31.50 but paid $25.07 w/ promo) and added on "Steep it simple" tea sampler (for $13.93). I also paid $9.99 for expedited shipping. I used the Starbucks card to pay for the total of $48.95. After couple of day of no email in regards to shipment, I checked the order status online. I found that my order was on hold, so I emailed customer service, inquiring about the delay and asking to cancel the entire order if there is a delay as I needed the items by a certain date and can purchase in-store. The next day, I got a response stating that the White chocolate tea is out of stock and has been cancelled from my order. But the tea sampler for $13.93 will be shipped at the $9.99 fee, for a total of 23.92. I called to cancel the entire order as paying ten dollars for a fourteen dollar item is silly when I can purchase it in person. I was told it was too late to cancel it and to contact my financial institution and dispute the charge. Apparently, this would send a red flag and they would cancel the item. The only problem here is most financial institutions do not allow disputing a charge when the transaction is still pending, additionally I used my Starbucks card. I received an email stating the same. When I mentioned the Starbucks card as my payment source, I was asked to call back again to give my Starbucks card number for a refund of $23.88, once the tea sampler ships. Again, if the item has not shipped yet, why not cancel the entire order, also why is the refund only $23.88? Finally, why modify my order, ignoring the promo codes, expedited shipping etc without getting in touch with me? Btw the White chocolate tea is still available for sale online. No out of stock message. This has been one of the worst customer service/online order experience I have had.

Teavana - Tea Review from Meriden, Connecticut
I liked Teavana so I went to the store in West farms mall, West Hartford Connecticut, I bought a lot of it multiple times, I was drinking a lot of it until one day I found cigarette filter in it, I was disgusted that I was drinking it all this time, I went to the store to show them and they said all they can do is give me a store credit, I don't want a store credit I still have a lot of it,I do not want to drink it ever again all I think of is that cigarette filter that was in someone's mouth.

Teavana Gift Card Review from Modesto, California

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On 12/24/15 we attempted to purchase a $15 gift card. Teavana's ststem shut down after I swiped my card. We were told it didn't go through and she had to reboot the system. After waiting approximately 25 minutes for the reboot our gift card was rung up. We also had a seperate transaction for a pitcher with infuser. Come to find out in January, Teavana charged us twice for the one gift card. I took a copy of my bank state to and the receipt to the Modesto, CA Teavaba store. Gina was very helpful and copied to me the email she was instructed to send to corporate, as they could do nothing at store level. This was on 1/08/16. I called Teavana corporate to check status. The person who emailed about the situation was out of office. I called again on 1/19/16 and was told they had no way to reach or message the person handling this. All I asked for was my $15 overcharge back. She put me on hold, came back and said, "There is nothing we can do for you." I said so you have effectively stolen $15 from me and have no intention of returning it? Even though I have provided proof? She asked if the bank statement said in exact words that Teavana overcharged me? I was dumbfounded. What kind of question is that?It only could have been asked with the thought in mind that I will never see my $15 again. Then she said they had only just received it that day. This, I informed her was a lie, as the store manager copied to me the email she sent the same day she sent it to corporate as required. She instantly got an attitude with a tone and told me to dispute it with my bank. Repeatedly. As if on a dare. As if I'll ever get the money back. I told her you want to make me fight for my money your company stole? Again she said there is nothing we can do for you. I hung up, livid. I called Starbucks and got a supervisor who listened to the situation, apologized for the occurance, and added $25 to the repurchased gift card. This pitcher and gift card was one of our sons Christmas gifts. After the outrageousness of Teavana's corporate rudeness, lack of checking into the overcharge, and downright theft of a customers money, we gladly will no longer be shopping at Teavana. Kudos to the supervisor at Starbucks who did what he could to rectify this situation.

Teavana Heavy-Handed Sales Practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing this letter both as a regular customer and a fellow business owner. I am very offended by a practice so ubiquitous across your stores as to tell me it is informally if not officially encouraged- I am referring to the tactic of pouring excess tea onto the scales then casually saying to the customer, "is this alright?"; for example, customer says he wants 3 oz. of a given tea; after the salesclerk has put some tea on the scales, he will offhandedly say, "Is 3.4 ok?". I've even had your salesperson add .8 oz. to an order. While I'm sure in the short term this strategy pays off, in the long run it projects an image of seedy pushiness that telegraphs- this is not a business to be trusted. Ironically you are now owned by a company, Starbucks, whose reputation is one of unimpeachable integrity- no pushy or deceptive tactics- Starbucks has earned its faithful followers because we know they are forthright- if their employees are driven by commissions, I never feel it (which is all that counts). With Teavana, it's the opposite: people bark the product from front of the store, they PUSH you continually while in the store, then, once they've succeeded in selling you something, they manipulate you further by furtively selling you more than you ordered. My hope is that Starbucks will bring its more enlightened formula for business success to its otherwise promising acquisition. In the meantime, I will buy my tea online. Thank you, Joe
